Safety that doesn't report to the schedule.

Waypoint Compliance Group provides independent safety, compliance, and reporting for contractors and the owners who hire them. We are not the contractor. We do not share its margin. Our reports say what happened.

Waypoint Compliance Group — Safety, Compliance, Reporting

Why independent safety

In-house safety has a conflict of interest built in.

When the safety function sits on the contractor's own payroll, it reports to the person who owns the schedule and the margin. That person decides whether a near miss gets written up, whether a shift stops for a permit, and whether the safety lead's position survives the next budget. Nothing about that arrangement is designed to produce an accurate record.

What it produces

  • Incidents that are treated instead of recorded, and near misses that are never written down
  • Safety plans written to pass a submittal review rather than to govern the work
  • Permit and hazard-control programs that exist on paper and get skipped when the schedule is tight
  • A safety lead who learns that the fastest way to lose the job is to stop it

In a U.S. Government Accountability Office review of OSHA injury recordkeeping, more than half of the occupational health practitioners surveyed reported pressure from employers to downplay injuries or illnesses, and two-thirds had seen workers afraid to report them. The data an owner receives is only as good as the incentives of the person who wrote it down.

What independence changes

  • Separate employer. Our safety professionals are Waypoint employees. The contractor does not hire, pay, or evaluate them.
  • Same report to everyone. Incident records, audit findings, and monthly reports go to the owner and the contractor at the same time, unedited.
  • Stop-work authority in writing. Our engagements include the authority to pause work for an unsafe condition, with no production incentive pulling the other way.
  • No stake in the schedule. We are paid for the program, not the pace. A stopped shift costs us nothing.

If you need a project completed safety-first, particularly in high-risk environments where the cost of an incident is measured in lives rather than days, the safety function has to be truly independent of the people being measured by it. That is what Waypoint is for.

For owners and agenciesWrite independent safety into the solicitation, or require it of the prime. You get a record you can rely on and a contractor who is being watched by someone who does not work for them.
For prime contractorsIndependent safety is how you show an owner that your program is not grading itself, and it is how your field crews get a safety professional whose only job is their safety.

Services

Four things we do, and do completely.

Each service is delivered as a defined scope with named deliverables, so a client, a prime contractor, or an auditor can see exactly what was done and when.

Safety Program Administration

  • Site-specific safety plans and job hazard analyses
  • Permit-required work programs: confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout
  • PPE requirements, pre-shift briefings, and field safety audits
  • Incident and near-miss investigation
  • OSHA 300 / 300A recordkeeping

Regulatory Compliance

  • Permit and plan requirements tracked to the obligation
  • Spill prevention and response plan support
  • Training matrices and certification tracking
  • Site access, credentialing, and badging coordination
  • Audit and inspection readiness

Reporting and Documentation

  • Monthly and annual client reporting
  • Inspection data consolidated from multiple field sources
  • Asset condition records and deterioration trends
  • Work authorization and time-and-material documentation
  • Deliverable quality review before anything is issued

Contract Administration Support

  • Submittal and deliverable schedules
  • Subcontractor documentation and coordination
  • Compliance calendars and recurring filings
  • Client correspondence and meeting records
  • Records retention that survives personnel changes

Approach

Built for the people who will read it later.

Embedded, not visiting

We work inside the client's schedule and the client's systems. Safety briefings happen on the shift the work happens on, including nights.

Documented from day one

Every program starts with a written plan and ends with a record. Nothing depends on one person's memory or one person's laptop.

Prepared for review

Each deliverable is written as if a regulator, an owner's representative, or a contract compliance officer will read it. Usually one of them does.

About

We serve owners, agencies, and contractors across metro Atlanta and the Southeast, with a focus on controlled-access facilities and industrial sites where the work is hazardous and the documentation requirements are strict.

Waypoint is independently owned and is not affiliated with any contractor it supports.
